New Full HD Smart Wire System

bluray

When most new homes are purchased these days, they come with an option to have them Smart Wired. Usually this consists of installing two coaxial cables, one telephone and a data cable on the one plate. The reason for this is that if you want Foxtel IQ on satellite you will need the two coaxial cables to make it work. The telephone cable for purchasing movies on demand, and the data point for Playstations and other internet movies. This is today's Smart Wiring.

There are installers that will design a system that will clear up your TV area by moving all your boxes to a central point sometimes called a HUB, just like a MATV system installed in Hotels and Pubs. They will install the Foxtel box at the Hub which any TV can view and change channels via multiple remote extenders. Multiple Foxtel boxes can be installed into the hub and each TV will have its own box assigned to it. The only problem with this is that if you record a movie or sports program on the lounge Foxtel box, you can't watch it on any other TV except the lounge TV. They are also wiring these systems with Component cables which are HD capable, but don't work with most Blu-ray players due to the High Definition Copyright Protection(HDCP). Hollywood has incorporated this protection to force people to use HDMI cabling which allows for a two way 'handshake' to be sent for the HDCP.

At Inspired Automation, we are wiring for the future as well as for now. Seeing that the movie industry and Foxtel are pushing towards a HDMI system we have created a smart system that handles HDMI by installing HDMI cables to each TV, one RG6 Quad Shield cable for local High Definition TV, a Cat6 data cable for Playstations and the like. We can put in telephone outlets but this is rare  due to the use of VoIP systems becoming morereliable, or the purchase of i base stations with multiple wireless handsets now on the market. Foxtel boxes are connected to a HDMI Matrix Switch and installed in a central location, usually a cupboard. This switch will allow for any TV to access any Foxtel box with full remote control. We have eliminated the problem of 1 remote signal changing all of the Foxtel boxes by using a Matrix Switch that knows which box to send the signal to.

exampleAn option that we strongly recommend is the installation of a central media server with 2 HD TV cards (simulating a TiVo Box), and a Blu-ray drive. This one server can now be accessed by any TV connected to the Matrix Switch. All of your purchased DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs and photos will be stored on this server allowing you to watch it on the Lounge TV, pause it, move to the bedroom and continue watching it there. Should you need to you can access your server from any location in the world which allows setting program recordings  if you forgot to do it before you left. This system will also do way with the pile of scratched CDs, DVDs and the need to find the disc when you want it.
